A look around the league and the web that covers it.
It’s also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren’t
always listed in order of importance. That’s for you, dear reader, to figure
out.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have extended coach Mike Brown’s contract, and I’m not
exactly enthused. Brown’s a smart guy who knows the game, and he doesn’t have
much to work with outside of LeBron James, but he hasn’t exactly shown me much
either.
PF: Akron
Beacon-Journal. LeBron James, scaring the ‘ell out of me.
SF: Akron
Beacon-Journal. Brian Windhorst goes over LeBron’s MVP candidacy at this
point in the season. Anyone who passes on handing the best player in the game
the award because of his team’s lack of wins is missing the point, to me, and
LeBron is quite deserving. That said, for what Kevin Garnett brings to Boston’s team defense,
he’d have my vote right now.
SG: Los
Angeles Times. Mark Heisler is alternately cranky and hopeful, and he
assumes (for some reason) that Kevin McHale’s Timberwolves would be better off
with Lamar Odom’s contract clogging their cap than Theo Ratliff’s expiring
deal. Sour grapes, it seems. He’s also ranking
teams, and cobbling
notes.

A downright inspirational (and sometimes frustrating) look at what Chris Kaman
has had to overcome.

This column would make sense on January 14th, 2004. Today? It’s like
writing a column entitled, "We Should Eat Right, Exercise;" or, "Pizza Is
Good."
7th: Newark
Star-Ledger. Dave D takes down some of the West’s haughtier sorts.
8th: Boston
Globe. Peter May on Paul Pierce’s sunnier outlook on life, and Glen "Big
Baby" Davis’
entry into the world of acting.
9th: Boston
Globe. Gilbert Arenas has nothing but nice things to say about the Boston
Celtics.
10th: New
York Times. Martin Johnson on the newer, younger, Pistons.
