Ron Artest can’t get into this guy’s bar

January 25th, 2008 · No Comments

I can’t believe that I’m about to link to something
from TMZ.com
, but I can always blame it on the cold.

No I can’t. This is pretty stupid, and I know that it’s
stupid going in, but I haven’t seen it anywhere else, so I’m throwing it up
here:

Ron Artest tried to get into an L.A.-nightclub the other
day, and was denied entrance. Artest
and a few friends were filmed trying to gain entry into the discotheque just as
several not-at-all-famous people were leaving the bar
, and Ron-Ron still
didn’t have enough sway to get in.

I just think the bouncer’s power trip is pretty funny, and that he’s not denying Artest entrance because someone like Kobe Bryant (or Jared Leto, or whatever other plonker you can think of) wants in, but he’s still going to keep Artest from getting in even as a stream of unremarkable patrons files out.

Now, I’ve never been to Sacramento, but after reading Tom
Ziller’s description of the potential hot spots surrounding Arco Arena
, I
can understand why Artest would want to head southward:

"Center Court is, like, the only non-chain
restaurant out of the 2,000 joints which surround ARCO Arena. And it might be
#2 (to the local In-n-Out) in terms of
food quality."

"Center Court"
being
Chris Webber’s Sacramento sports bar
. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. Very
popular place. Tyus Edney
was in there just the other night, and he recommends that you ask for a second
side of marinara sauce with your fried mozzarella sticks.

I should stop with the snark, the most interaction I’ve ever
had with a hard-partying athlete came when I had to sidestep Kyle Farnsworth at Smart Bar seemingly every night
during the summer of 2003, and I’m sure Center Court’s fare is just peachy.

Also, Ron
Artest was denied entrance into a nightclub in Los Angeles
.
