Warning: depressing news ahead. Peter Vescey at the New York Post is reporting this morning that former Sixers and Nets’ forward Derrick Coleman is in urgent need of a heart transplant. For whatever reason, the 40-year-old’s heart arrhythmia (an irregular rhythm of the heartbeat) has worsened, hospitalizing him. I hope I can speak for everyone here when I say our thoughts and prayers are with you, DC.
UPDATE: Apparently, Vecsey’s story from this morning was greatly exaggerated. Derrick Coleman does, in fact, NOT need a heart transplant. Phew. (Thanks, jerrodjessop.)
